Fortnite is one of the most popular battle royale games despite having been released 6 years ago. As of writing, millions of players still log in the game and hop on for either a series of matches or just a quick game. Epic always makes sure to keep the game updated, making the game’s world unique and immersive for players. What is Lantern Fest in Fortnite?
The Lantern Fest in Fortnite usually begins at the start of April. The in-game event coincides with Ramadan, the holy month of fasting and prayer for Muslims. During the event in Fortnite, players can find lanterns across the map since it is inspired by the traditional lantern festivals celebrated in the Middle East during Ramadan.

What’s new this 2023?
Lantern Fest Tour Island
For this year’s Lantern Fest celebration in Fortnite, it will take place on an exclusive event-themed island. According to Epic, the special Lantern Fest Tour is made by Illusion Creative and it will feature camels, a desert, palm trees, and of course, lanterns.
The island will also have different challenges which players can take part in so they can receive the following rewards:
- Lantern Spray
- ‘Cameo Needs Loot’ Emoticon
- ‘Dog Eat Dog’ Spray
- Twilight Mosaic Wrap

Players can access the event-themed island as early as now. There will also be a second part to this and it begins on April 6, 2023. Once the second part launches, players can enjoy more challenges and brand-new sights to see.
Lantography is back!
Similar to last year’s celebration, players can take part in the Lantography contest for this year’s Lantern Fest. All players have to do is take the best screenshot where lanterns all around the BR Island are visible.

If you like taking part in competitions like this, follow the steps below to submit your entries for Lantern Fest 2023 Fortography Contest:
- Follow the official Twitter account of Fortnite Middle East.
- To submit your entry, all you have to do is tweet your best screenshot and use the official hashtag for the event: #LantographyContest2023
- Fortnite will then choose the top 15 submissions. Winners will receive the “Cameo Needs Loot” Emoticon exclusive for this event.
- The submission period starts on March 23, 2023 at 2:00 PM Eastern Standard Time. Players can participate until March 30, 2023 at 4:00 PM Eastern Standard Time.

xxYJYxx 2023 Cup
Fortnite will launch the xxYJxx 2023 Cup on April 7 during the Lantern Fest celebration. If you and your friends are looking to test your skills and get a shot at a massive prize pool, then this Cup is perfect.
