To make the spooky season more exciting, players can get a free Chrome Punk skin in Fortnite for free! In typical Fortnite fashion, everything comes at a price even though this skin is technically free. Players will have to complete a series of quests before they can get their hands on this Halloween-themed skin. Here’s everything you need to know about how to get the Chrome Punk Skin for free in Fortnite!
From the name itself, the Chrome Punk skin in Fortnite is shiny. It’s obvious that Epic Games is keeping up with the chrome theme they have going on this season. This is also the perfect opportunity for players to add a new skin to their collection without spending their V-Bucks.
What is the Chrome Punk Skin in Fortnite?
This hasn’t been officially announced by Fortnite or Epic Games yet. But what are data miners for if they won’t give us leaks ahead of time? One of Fortnite’s most credible data miners and leakers, HYPEX has confirmed that we can get a free skin this season in Fortnite.
- At first, the announcement for the free skin was discovered written in the Italian language. Most leaks coming out right now are from Fortnite’s French page
- Another Fortnite data miner has revealed what the skin will look like once it’s released. This was eventually confirmed by HYPEX as the leaker reposted the image on their Twitter page

- Jaykey has revealed the skins and cosmetics you can get for free during the Fortnitemares event. This includes a skin, back bling, and a loading screen
- The Chrome Punk Skin is a character with a jack-o’lantern head wearing modern clothes. As expected, the character’s entire body is covered in chrome
How do I get this skin for free?
As we said earlier, this skin may be free but you have to earn it in order to get it. Data miners have found quests related to Chrome Punk in the game files for Fortnite. Based on our understanding, you need to complete a series of quests to get all the free rewards for this year’s Fortnitemares.
Here are the quests you need to complete as well as the rewards you’ll get for doing so:
- Chromeseed Backbling – Earn 10 Account Levels
- Graveyard Rave Loading Screen – Earn 25 Account Levels
- Chrome Punk Skin – Earn 50 Account Levels
It’s important to remember that your account level in Fortnite is completely different from your Battle Pass level. If you want to check your account level, you can do this by going to the career section. Your account level is all the levels you’ve gained while playing Fortnite across all the seasons in the game.

Right now, it’s unclear whether you need to earn these account levels during the Fortnitemares event since at this point, most players have their account levels at 50 or higher. All we can do right now is wait until Epic Games and Fortnite officially announces the free rewards this Halloween.
