I’ve played Firewatch and trust me, it is indeed one of the most beautiful and satisfying games of all time. Campo Santo is the studio behind it and they’ve some great news for us.
Valve, the leading digital game distribution company, has acquired Campo Santo. In a presentation for Dota 2’s Artifact, Lord Gaben said, “Hooray! Valve’s going to start shipping games again”. Surely, we now have evidence for the same.
Campo Santo’s acquisition is rather of benefit to the small but emerging studio. In their blog post, Campo Santo writes, “In us, they [Valve] found a group with unique experience and valuable, diverse perspectives. It quickly became an obvious match”.
“The twelve of us at Campo Santo have agreed to join Valve, where we will maintain our jobs as video game developers and continue production on our current project, In the Valley of Gods.”
The studio will continue working on their upcoming game In the Valley of Gods, which we can expect to hit Steam in 2019.
Make sure you subscribe to our push notifications and never miss an updated on Firewatch, In The Valley of Gods or Campo Santo.
Until next time, Happy Gaming!
