Fantasia Barrino reveals the terrible experience she had after a recent family outing was cut short due to an alleged incident of racial profiling. Allegedly, The Color Purple star was racially profiled by their Airbnb host after they were asked to leave the rental property earlier than expected.
Fantasia Barrino and Family Reportedly Asked to Leave Rental Place by Airbnb Host
Fantasia Barrino took on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday, December 17, to detail the alleged “racial profiling” experience she had with her Airbnb host.
“My stomach is so uneasy this morning as I’m riding back to my home in the cold and rain,” she wrote.
As the singer-actress usually remains mum when someone has done her wrong, she chose to speak out this time as it involved her family, especially after she and her kids were kicked out in the middle of the night.
The 39-year-old revealed that the host accused her of having a “loud party” after seeing balloons being dropped off and a game truck that had no generator in earlier in the day. She then explained that the guests she had reserved were the same number of people who stayed for the night, insisting they were never told they couldn’t bring company over.

Barrino also stressed that the house they rented was meant to hold parties after seeing its amenities and equipment that the previous party left.
That said, she found this incident a case of racial profiling, and the treatment they experienced was due to the color of their skin.
“I wanted my son to enjoy his friends [10-12 year-olds] and make him feel special as I have been traveling for the last 35+ days promoting a movie I starred in,” she continued. “This time, I dare not stay quiet.”
In a different post on Instagram, Barrino also claimed that they were asked to leave without warning. So, despite the freezing rain at six in the morning, with sleepy kids in tow, they loaded up four vehicles, cleaned the rental home, and organized everything back to its original place before they left.
Airbnb Responds to Fantasia Barrino’s Claims
So far, though Fantasia Barrino and the unnamed host have yet to comment about the issue, Airbnb’s customer support account has responded to the actress’ claims.
“Hi Fantasia, Airbnb does not condone discrimination in any way,” its response read, giving her a link to the company’s nondiscrimination policy. It also asked her to send them a DM with her email address connected to her booking so its team could follow up.

Fantasia Barrino has yet to make another update about the issue she experienced with the Airbnb host or if the latter has already issued an apology after what happened. As no one knows what occurred, we hope the same thing will never happen to anyone again, especially if there are kids involved—whether they’re back or white.
