FANS App, JYP Entertainment Unveils New Artist-Fan Platform | All Details

JYP Entertainment reveals a new artist-fan platform specifically for their agency’s groups and soloists — the FANS application. We’re pretty sure that not every fan was aware of this surprising launch of the new application, so we’ll get down to every detail for you. The entertainment company already dropped the release date and all the artists’ schedules for fans to meet them in the application. Do you have to pay for a subscription? Is it only open for JYPE artists? We have the answers here for you, so stick around with us.

What Is The FANS App And When Will It Launch?

On January 9. 2024, JYPnation posted a brief introduction and a schedule of the agency’s upcoming FANS app. It will launch starting on Saturday, January 13, 2024. Check out below for the schedule of your favorite artists’ arrival to the exclusive JYPE app.

Community Opening Date Artists
January 13, 2024 (Saturday) / 17:00 KST DAY6, Stray Kids, ITZY, NMIXX
January 15, 2024 (Monday) / 14:00 KST JY Park, VCHA
January 17, 2024 (Wednesday) / 14:00 KST Xdinary Heroes
January 19, 2024 (Friday) / 14:00 KST NiziU
January 22, 2024 (Monday) / 14:00 KST TWICE
January 23, 2024 (Tuesday) / 14:00 KST 2PM, JUN. K, Nichkhun, Jang Wooyoung, Lee Junho

On January 13, the Beta version will be available for download for fans. It will be primarily a fans and artists’ interaction hub, so if you need a visual presentation of how it will work, check out the Weverse application (except for the Weverse DM). The FANS app would be specially used by JYPE artists; instead of using the community page of Bubble for JYPnation.

  • Should you unsubscribe to the artists’ bubble for JYPnation? If you wish to, you can do so. However, to reiterate, the FANS app would not host any paid messaging service (at least for now). You can remain subscribed to the artists’ Bubble for JYPnation to continue sending them encouraging messages and receive gratitude and updates from your favorite idols in a chat-like platform.

  • What can you do in the FANS app? According to JYPE, there are various things you can do in the application. Fans can (a) send messages to artists, (b) see artists’ stories, (c) check important dates, (d) view ‘Membership Only’ content, (e) participate in public broadcasts, and (f) communicate with other fans. Regarding the Membership Only content, it would be accessible to those fans who purchased the membership subscription for their respective artists.
  • Will it be a free application and service for JYPE fans? From what we see, the FANS app and service are free of charge, except for content that will be posted in Membership Only (which requires you to be part of the official fan club). It seems like they took the idea of HYBE’s Weverse, which is quite a good deal for their artists. We will certainly update this article if subscription information is out, so watch out!

  • Will there be live broadcasts available? We know that after VLive’s disappearance in the K-pop world, we have been missing the idols’ live broadcasts. We have yet to know if the FANS app has a live broadcast feature. Bubble is purely a messaging app, so Weverse is the only platform that has the broadcast function, so the newest app could also have a feature. Artists often utilize Instagram Live to interact with their fans, so having a Live feature in the FANS app would probably encourage more fans to download the application.

Fans React To The Announcement

What caught the attention of most fans, especially ONCEs, was the omission of the senior girl group in the first poster of the FANS app. In the teaser, the groups added were mostly from the fourth-generation, Xdinary Heroes, NMIXX, STRAY KIDS, ITZY, and even JY Park. Most Quote Retweets were appalled with how the agency did not add TWICE in the promotional photo.

Others did not like the idea of adding another app on their phones to connect with their favorite idols, while some appreciated JYPE’s efforts to create an application for their artists. As a multi-stan, we also have multiple applications on our phones like Weverse, Lysn, Bubble, and translating apps among others.

Most fans wish for the Live feature, as they missed TWICE’s random lives, ITZY and STRAY KIDS’ jamming session with fans, and more. We sure are looking forward to more details about the newest app!
