Everything you need to catch Walking Wake in Pokemon Scarlet, And Iron Leaves in Violet!

There’s something about Pokemon mutating into their next form in the succeeding generations. Appearing on the box art of Pokémon Crystal is Suicune, the game’s mascot. Appearing in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, Walking Wake is the next successor to Suicune. Then we also have Iron Leaves in Pokemon Violet.

Here’s a comprehensive guide on how to defeat, locate and catch Suicune’s big brother. On the way, let us also discuss how to get that Iron Leaves fella.

Walking Wake, a paradoxical form of Suicune, has been introduced as one of the two new Legendary Pokémon in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. The community was taken by surprise when Nintendo and The Pokémon Company released the new Tera Raids for Walking Wake and Iron Leaves in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet without prior announcement.

This means that players can now access Walking Wake and Iron Leaves, which are available exclusively in Scarlet and Violet, respectively.

Finding Walking Wake in Pokemon Violet?

While there seems to be a sense of exclusivity in finding Walking Wake to Pokemon Scarlet only, players of Pokemon Violet can still capture it by participating in raids led by Scarlet players.

Time is running out as Walking Wake is only available in raids until March 12 at 6:59 p.m. EST, and you can only capture one. If you wish to add it to your collection, be sure to participate in the raids before the deadline. Although the raids should come back again sometime.

Upon defeating Walking Wake, you will receive standard drops such as Exp. Candy, Tera Shards, Bottle Caps, and treasure items that can be sold for money.

Capturing Walking Wake is not particularly challenging, as it is a five-star raid target, unlike the event seven-star raids. If you bring in counters, you should be able to defeat it easily, as it is considerably easier than its counterpart, Iron Leaves. It is important to note that Walking Wake raids do not drop Herba Mystica.

During the Tera Raid Battle, it will use moves like Sunny Day, Hydro Steam, Noble Roar, and Flamethrower.

To locate the Walking Wake Raid, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Poke Portal menu and connect to the internet using L.
  2. Look for a Water Tera Type icon on the map that sparkles. (Note: this icon is only available in Pokemon Scarlet after unlocking 5-star Tera Raids by completing the story).

How to defeat this legendary Pokemon?

A GRASS OR FAIRY COUNTER
  1. Walking Wake is a Water/Dragon Type, making it vulnerable to Grass and Fairy Types. To maximize effectiveness, we suggest adding Azumarill to your party.
  2. You can use Belly Drum to increase its attack power and then unleash Play Rough to inflict Fairy-type damage. Additionally, Dragon, Ice, and Electric Types can also be used to defeat Walking Wake with ease.
ELECTRIC TYPE COUNTER
  1. Additionally, opting for Electric-type Pokemon is a wise choice since they are immune to Walking Wake’s moves and can deal super effective damage due to its Water typing.
  2. Therefore, we recommend using an Electric-type Pokemon with an Electric Tera Type that is at least Level 75 to defeat it.

How to defeat Iron Leaves, by the way?

Iron Leaves, on the other hand, is a Grass/Psychic Type and weak against Fire and Dark Types. Pokemon like Houndoom work well against Iron Leaves, but it is also susceptible to Ghost and Bug Types such as Lokix, Sableye, and Spiritomb.

By utilizing these Types, you can have a smoother battle against Iron Leaves and Walking Wake. How are you finding the latest Pokemon Scarlet and Violet legendary raids? Let us know down below.
