Elden Ring’s Steam page premiered this week, providing new details, screenshots, and putting to rest rumors of an Epic Games Store exclusive. The minimum and recommended setups for the highly anticipated FromSoftware title are currently unavailable on the store page, but Game Informer has obtained the data directly from Bandai-Namco.

- The disk space needed for setup is shocking: 150 GB. FromSoftware titles were never particularly greedy, with a simple GTX 1060 sufficing to fully enjoy the experience. The console editions are still awaiting verification, but the size must be comparable. Elden Ring is six times the weight of Dark Souls 3 or Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, for example.
- The summary: Elden Ring is a massive open-world game with six regions that revolve around a central hub, allowing the gamer to choose their own path. Director Hidetaka Miyazaki estimates that the game can be completed in about 30 hours in one seating, but we know the studio: there should be plenty of mysteries and things to explore.
- Elden Ring’s development would have been hampered by the disease outbreak, but if everything goes according to plan, the next game from FromSoftware should be released on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation on January 21, 2022.
Not Epic Games Exclusive
Regardless of the fact that the official Elden Ring preview featured a Steam logo, rumors of Epic Games Store exclusivity have circulated. The argument can now be put to rest, as the Steam listing is now available. While we’ve seen titles become Epic Games exclusives or lose them in the past, such as Death Stranding, Elden Ring’s current status is that it’ll be released on Steam.
