Following his Super Bowl halftime show Emmy win, Marshall Mathers III or popularly known as Eminem is just one Tony award shy of finally joining an elite group of entertainers who have won all four EGOT awards (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony). The iconic rapper and hip hop legend won his first Emmy after performing in the NFL Super Bowl LVI which featured the Los Angeles Rams and Cincinnati Bengals. He is now one award closer to the EGOT status, but how can Eminem win a Tony award? Can he win one in the future?
Eminem joined Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent, Mary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar in one of the most epic and greatest halftime performances ever. What’s even more amazing is that this is the first ever Super Bowl halftime show that has ever won an Emmy which goes to show that this definitely is one of the best performances we have ever seen from the best musicians.
What is a Tony Award and how can Eminem win one?
A Tony can only be won by entertainers who dwell in theatrical and Broadway works. For someone like Eminem who prides himself in rap and hip hop, it would seem difficult for him but not entirely impossible. If Eminem is really interested, he can contribute to a play aside from playing or acting. Either he can make songs, create an arrangement, or produce the play, the Slim Shady could try to take one home in the future.
After his Emmy win last Saturday, 17 Grammy awards, and an Oscar award in 2003 for his original song “Lose Yourself” for the movie “8 mile”, Eminem needs just a Tony to be part of the prestigious EGOT awardees.
In totality, there are only 17 people in the industry who have to achieve the EGOT status. The latest one is the female singer, Jennifer Hudson. She won a Tony just June of this year as a producer of the musical play “A Strange Loop”. Below are other artists who are members of the said group:

Aside from Eminem, there is also another icon who’s peeking in the EGOT window: ADELE
The English singer and songwriter, Adele, is also a Tony award short, similar to Eminem. She also won an Emmy last Saturday for her works in the One Night Only show.

Opposite Em, Adele has a great chance to win a Tony if she puts her mind to it. She has the skills and talent to do so but we’ll just have to wait and see how Adele looks at her current status. As of the moment, Adele has already won 15 Grammys. Add that with an Oscar for the Best Original Song (Skyfall) in 2013 and her latest Emmy award.
