Dispatch Couple Rumors: Will It Still Be Revealed?

In the K-pop industry, the Dispatch Couple revelation has been one of the annual happenings that either excites fans or angers them for Dispatch’s invasion of privacy. With a new year that started, the New Year couple for this year has yet to be announced; however, numerous pairings have been rumored to be the media outlet’s revelation for this year. In case you missed it, here are some of the names K-pop fans have been discussing and whether Dispatch will still reveal the new idol couple.

The Rumored Dispatch Couples For New Year’s

Aside from January 1, K-pop fans (and even non-fans) anticipate the Dispatch Couple revelation on December 31. The media outlet drops a new couple that they have been following almost throughout every year. Some are now married, others are still together, and some broke up, but K-pop fans are excited and nervous about the New Year’s couple this year.

Many took their time to wait for the announcement, but nothing came through. From December 31 to January 1, those who couldn’t conceal their excitement were stuck on social media waiting for the reveal. So, while browsing and waiting along with other fans, we stumbled upon numerous rumored Dispatch Couples, and if you have not seen them, here’s the list.

  1. Ex-IZ*ONE Kang Hye Won and Actor Im Si Wan

Based on the initial hints, we don’t think they will be the Dispatch New Year Couple,  but fans seem to believe this is true. The two are currently filming a web series together, with actors Lee Si Woo and Lee Sun Bin. The cute chemistry between Si Wan and Hye Won in Boyhood has viewers wishing this year’s couple announcement would be them.

  • However, Hye Won is not part of the girl groups mentioned in the hints, but IZ*ONE could be considered one of the famous 4th generation GGs. Meanwhile, Si Wan fits the description as one of the members of the second-gen group, ZE:A, and now an actor.
  1. aespa Giselle and Park Hyun Sik

Honestly, this is something we did not expect to see at all. This rumor came out days before December 31st, which became a hot topic in the Korean online community. A Japanese media outlet first reported that the Dispatch Couple would be Giselle and Hyun Sik. But, it did not sit pretty well with the Tweets we have read, as the two (if this is true) have a ten-year age gap. It’s quite a random pairing, but we still have yet to know which is true.

  • Despite this rumored couple having us ??? being an unexpected pair, the hints given are consistent with the idol and actor. Giselle is one of the members of SM Entertainment’s aespa, while Hyun Sik was a former ZE:A member (yes, he was with Si Wan, in case you did not know about that) and is now a famous actor. His roles in Hwarang, Strong Girl Bong-Soon, and Happiness, among other projects, were enough to prove how great of an actor he is.
  1. LE SSERAFIM Kazuha and Hwang Min Hyun

This rumored Dispatch Couple may be random for some, but if you have watched the HYBE’s Game Caterers, there’s a part where the two were together during a game. Well, this could be a pair, as the two are both under HYBE, so it’s very much possible that they have met each other. That’s an eight-year age gap, though, as Min Hyun is a 1995 liner while Kazuha was born in 2003.

  • Kazuha and Min Hyun is another rumored pair that fits the initial hints for this year’s New Year couple. A LE SSERAFIM member, Min Hyun is a member of NU’EST (apparently, they were in second-gen, as fans say that the third-gen began with EXO’s debut) and turned actor, with a side of solo activities, too. Hmm, could be, could be.
  1. LE SSERAFIM Sakura and SHINee Taemin

We first saw this one on TikTok and traveled to X, which started fans’ reactions. The pairing surprised people on exactly January 1st, and we’re pretty sure it’s just a rumor. Some had a screenshot of the Tweet (or it’s an edited one); however, it does not seem to be an official account of Dispatch. So, to whoever started this rumor, it became big, and now people are wondering if it’s true.

  • Taemin is not an actor, but Sakura is a member of Source Music’s LE SSERAFIM. Everyone is still probably dancing to the SHINee member’s latest music, Guilty, so as far as we know, Taemin is still a successful soloist and idol in the K-pop industry.

When Will The Pair Be Announced?

So far, the Dispatch Couple announcement is still nowhere to be found. If you’ve been a K-pop fan for years now, it’s a given that it’s not every year that Dispatch releases a new couple. But since the media outlet gave away hints, many expected them to drop the New Year couple for 2024. While we still don’t have an idea if the pair will still be released, there are circulating reports that Dispatch delayed the announcement to give respect to the passing of the veteran actor Lee Sun Kyun.

K-pop fans who can’t wait for the announcement still have their hopes up for the uncertain report. Whether or not the outlet will reveal a new couple, we hope the best for every K-pop idol and actor’s career in 2024. Hopefully, people will start normalizing idol dating, but of course, only those who are at the right age.
