Britney Spears’ controversial memoir, The Woman in Me, was officially released on October 24. As expected, the Pop Princess has dropped several bombshell revelations about her life, family, and even her past relationship with Justin Timberlake. But as the book comes after her divorce from her former husband, Sam Asghari, does she manage to write anything about him and their relationship?
The Pop Princess’ Memoir’s Revelations
Britney Spears and Sam Asghari officially parted ways in July 2023. According to their divorce documents, via The Independent, the former couple cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their split. Though the separation came as a surprise to many, sources told People that their relationship had been on the rocks for months before they officially broke up, and things were said to be “toxic between them for a long time.”
So, is this part of their story made it into her memoir? The answer is no. If there’s one thing that Spears wrote about her ex-husband in her book, it’s nothing but heaps of praise. She even called him a “gift from God.” “I have an appreciation for how stable he is. I love that he doesn’t even drink,” she wrote in an excerpt from Page Six.

The Everytime singer added she was “instantly smitten” by him when they met on the set of her Slumber Party music video in October 2016. At the time, she claimed she knew she wanted him in her life immediately, adding the chemistry between them was “insane.” “We couldn’t keep our hands off each other,” she continued.
Spears also gave the former personal trainer credits for encouraging her to speak out against her 13-year conservatorship and supporting her along the way, holding and squeezing her hand during the start of the open court hearing in June 2021. That said, she was stunned by his consistency in working out, being a good man and healthy, taking care of her, and helping her learn how they could look after each other. “He’s such an inspiration, and I’m grateful,” she added.
Did Spears Talk About Their Divorce With Ex Asghari?
With all the revelations Britney Spears made in The Woman in Me, it’s quite a surprise that she didn’t tackle anything about her divorce from Sam Asghari. It’s actually because the 41-year-old was already finished writing the book when the split happened, and he officially filed for divorce in August.
At the time, she had already submitted her final manuscript for the memoir, so she didn’t have the chance to say anything about their breakup there. Instead, what fans get is how happy their romance used to be.

Asghari is believed to be a strong support system for Spears, especially during her controversial conservatorship trial. And by the looks of it, he had supported her consistently. It wasn’t the first time that the hitmaker praised her ex for always being there by her side during the “hardest years of her life.” That said, her words about him might be true, but sadly, their romance went through a downward spiral and ended in a divorce.
However, there might be a chance that Spears would spill it all. Nope, she’s not done yet. Before The Woman in Me officially dropped, she teased “Volume 2” was coming in a now-deleted post on Instagram.
“Riding ‘n writing !!! All I’m doing at the moment … volume 2 coming after 1,” she captioned her post, featuring a video montage of her tropical getaway. Though her publisher, Gallery Books, is yet to confirm that a second volume will indeed come, it may be possible that she will reveal the details of her messy split with Asghari there.
