This guide will help you get the Microcosm Exotic Trace Rifle in Destiny 2: The Final Shape.

Prerequisites:

• Completion of the Destiny 2: The Final Shape campaign.
• Access to The Pale Heart, a new explorable zone unlocked during the campaign.

Convalescence Questline

Note: After getting the Ergo Sum Exotic Sword or finishing Queens Part 1, you may proceed with this quest.

1. Seeking Assistance in The Lost City: Following the conclusion of The Final Shape campaign, head to the social space within The Lost City. Locate Micah’s Conduit, and interact.
2. “Convalescence” Questline: Interact with Micah to receive the “Convalescence” questline. This series of quests tasks players with locating a missing Ghost scattered across The Pale Heart.
3. Root Bound Quest: The initial quest, “Root Bound,” will require you to find a specific lost Ghost (possibly injured). Open your map and find the circle indicator of the quest. Head to Forgotten Deep (Lost Sector). Once you reach the final room, look for the missing Ghost.
4. Go Back to Micah’s Conduit: Upon completing “Root Bound,” return to Micah’s Conduit in The Lost City and interact to continue the questline.
5. Underbrush Quest: You must acquire two blessings by opening chests anywhere in the Pale Heart. If the ‘quest update’ bugs, just fast-travel to Micah’s Conduit area.
6. Greenery Quest: Open ‘Overthrow Chests’ in the Landing. Once done, follow the objective marker. Pursue the glowing bird. Shoot the correct runes for the gate to open. First thing you have to do is acquire the Hive Sword. Look for the breakable rocks and destroy them using this sword to continue the quest. Defeat the enemies and heal the wounded ghost.
7. Unlocking the Exotic Quest: Upon completing a sufficient number of “Convalescence” quests, Micah will offer you a new quest titled “Budding.”
8. The “Microcosm” Quest: Involves 3 missions – Ascent, Dissent, and Iconoclasm.
9. Claiming the Microcosm: Successfully completing the 3 missions will reward you with the Microcosm Weapon. Simply go back to Lost City, interact with Micah’s Conduit, and claim your new weapon.
