Destiny 2 recently released its Lightfall expansion bringing new content along with it. With the addition of this new update, players are also supposed to adjust their power level along with it. The base power level of each content will be increased (210) by Bungie, leading players to grind and plan their future activities.
When the Lightfall expansion was first announced, Bungie also revealed the level caps of each tier:
- Soft Gear cap: Starting from 1750
- Power Gear cap: Stopping at 1800
- Pinnacle Gear cap: Ending at 1810 (highest)

What is a power cap and how players can level up faster in Destiny 2 Lightfall?
Leveling up for each power cap in Destiny 2 Lightfall requires a different approach and the following ways are explained below:
For Soft Gear cap (1750)
Players can level up across various classes by acquiring everything from open-world events and playlists. Upon playing each armor piece or weapon dropped will have increased power, until it reaches 1750 for the selected character class. Players can also play the Lightfall campaign at Legendary difficulty to boost their power level.
For Power Gear cap (1800)
A power cap of 1800 can be achieved by doing activities that reward powerful or pinnacle gears. However, this drop varies from various content, you get from +2 to +6 rated gears that can be pinnacles or prime engrams. The following list would be useful to reach the power cap from the soft cap:
- Vendor bonuses on Tower
- Competitive PvP
- 3 Nightfall completions
- Vendor rank-up rewards
- Terminal Overload in Lightfall
- Season of Defiance activity
- Hawthorne clan rewards
- Featured Raid and Dungeon of the week
- Prime engrams
- The Witch Queen
For Pinnacle Gear cap (1810)
Upon reaching the 1800 mark in Destiny 2 Lightfall, players are likely to face a halt. However, that can be taken care of as the Pinnacle cap is set at 10 more than the power cap. Just as mentioned in the power cap section, players can follow the certain list to reach their goal:
- 3 ritual activities
- 250k Nightfall scores via single or multiple runs
- Pinnacle Raid, or featured activity in the rotator
- Terminal Overload activity in Lightfall
- Lightfall Raid
- Exotic quest
- Spire of the Watcher Dungeon
- Trials of Osiris
- Iron Banner
- Dares of Eternity score
If you wish to go higher than the pinnacle cap, you will have to level up the seasonal artifact and get bonus powers for contest modifiers on Raids.
