Remedy Unveils ‘Control’, A New IP at Sony E3

Sony revealed a new PlayStation 4 game – Control, at their E3 2018 Press Conference today. The game is being developed by Remedy Entertainment.

Polygon notes the official description from the press release as follows:

After a secretive agency in New York is invaded by an otherworldly threat, players will take on the role of Jesse Faden, the new Director struggling to regain Control. This sandbox-style, gameplay-driven experience built on the proprietary Northlight engine challenges players to master a combination of supernatural abilities, modifiable loadouts and reactive environments while fighting through the deep and mysterious worlds Remedy is known and loved for.

The trailer features clips of shape shifting and time bending. What we could gather from the trailer is that the protagonist possesses the ability to control her surroundings and manipulate the environment to her will. It also looks like she can control time to some extent. Even though there is very little information regarding what the gameplay will be like, the trailer certainly gives off Quantum Break vibes, which is no surprise for a game being developed by the same people who created the former.

Control will be published by 505 Games and will hit the stores sometime during 2019 for the Xbox, PS4 and PC. The release date remains unannounced as of the moment but the exclusivity is clear as a crystal.
