Chainsaw Man 119 Recap: How Asa and Denji’s complex relationship is ‘bang-ed ‘by Nayuta

In Chainsaw Man chapter 119, Nayuta, the Control Devil’s current incarnation, makes his highly anticipated debut. Fans have been pleased with the series, but have been frustrated by the lack of Nayuta until now. The chapter features Nayuta’s powers, which have never been seen before, and from context clues from part one, it appears that these powers are not good for Yoru.

Why Nayuta is the impending doom in Chainsaw Man Chapter 119

It is not clear what specific powers Nayuta has displayed in Chainsaw Man chapter 119, as it is still being speculated by fans based on context clues from the earlier parts of the series.

However, the fact that these abilities are similar to ones used by Makima, who has been shown to be a formidable and dangerous character, suggests that Nayuta may pose a significant threat to Yoru.

Asa Mitaka’s arrival at Denji’s apartment

Asa Mitaka arrives at Denji’s apartment. And Denji tells Asa the first rule, which is to not open any other door than his apartment’s. In Denji’s head, his explanation is probably along the lines of the justification that the people living in the apartments around him are all devils, and opening the door would expose them to danger. Asa seems mocked and tells him why would she ever even open another door.

The rules of Denji

  • Denji also tells her the second rule, which is to not open the fridge. Asa is intrigued, asking Denji what he means. Denji explains that Nayuta has a tendency to destroy everything she comes into contact with, hence the third rule: to never let her see Asa and himself making out. Despite this warning, Asa is undeterred and tells him that she doesn’t like him or anything.
  • Denji is taken aback by her response, asking why she would hate him when they were getting along so well before. Asa tells him that it’s because he’s not serious about anything, and is always joking around. She adds that his jokes are always inappropriate and that she’s tired of dealing with them.

Denji asks why she asked him on a date if she did not even like him. Which is the reason why he had the idea that she even liked him in the first place. She adds that she only did it because she wanted a distraction.

Denji is worried that he stinks.

  • Despite this, Denji seems unfazed and remains in good spirits. Or acts like it at least, to partially save him from the embarrassment.  He asks her if it is because he stinks and smells that she doesn’t like him.
  • In some regards, almost hoping passively to know if she dislikes people who stink. He also passively asks if he stinks like a dog, but internally rectifies himself that dogs don’t stink in the first place. Making up for a hilarious panel.

This moment in Chainsaw Man chapter 119 highlights the complex and conflicting feelings that Asa and Denji have for each other. While Asa’s words suggest that she has no romantic interest in Denji, her actions, and behavior around him suggest otherwise. This inner conflict adds depth and complexity to their relationship. If there is even such a relationship to begin with, that is.

Nayuta interferes Yoru’s schemes

As things unravel, the Yoru within Asa takes over. In what then becomes a passionate scene, Yoru kisses Denji. And mind you, Yoru’s only intentions are to turn Denji into his pet weapon. Patting his head, almost trying to chant “Denji Spinal Cord Sword”.

Sinning the third rule: do not make out in front of Nayuta. Because in that bizarre moment, for some unworldly reason, Nayuta was standing just outside their doorway.

In what then is a breathtaking parallel to Makima’s control devil chains moment, and her shooting Power using a bang. Chainsaw Man chapter 119 ends Nayuta releases chains through her body, piercing Yoru’s head in one go.
