Emraan Hashmi Films presents Captain Nawab – Bollywood’s Call of Duty: Black Ops
Bollywood films have been copying Hollywood posters since decades. From Hulchul to Murder 3, Bollywood has often failed to come up with original posters. People started criticizing Bollywood’s lazy copying methods and that’s when they jumped into copying Video Games posters. Emraan Hashmi’s first home production ‘Captain Nawab’ is a good example of the same.
Emraan Hashmi Films will debut in Bollywood with its first film ‘Captain Nawab’ this or the next year. The first look of the film starring Emraan Hashmi looks exactly the same as 2010’s Call of Duty: Black Ops poster.
In both the posters we see a solider resting his hands on his knees and holding two handguns. The only thing that is different is that the designing team at Captain Nawab replaced those two rifles at Alex’s back with India and Pakistan’s flags.
I never thought a Bollywood Production House would ever copy a video game poster for their debut film! This is what may have happened in the studios –
We have completed shooting the film and has started editing it. Now, it’s time to release a first look poster to anticipate the audience. But we have don’t have poster ideas. Idea! Why not pick Call of Duty: Black Ops poster and replicate it to make our “original” Captain Nawab Poster?
