It’s hard to believe that World of Warcraft has been around for 18 years. The popularity of this classic MMO has wavered, but it has always managed to stay a dominant force in the MMORPG genre. WoW: Dragonflight is the 9th expansion, and new developments are coming out at a speedy rate.
Its introduction suggests that World of Warcraft still has untapped potential. But is this Blizzard-Activision game, which has reached the pinnacle of its long and illustrious career, still capable of surprising us, or has it hit rock bottom?
A lost realm that was once the glorious kingdom of dragons.
After suffering heavy losses and making numerous sacrifices in service of Azeroth, the Dragonflights’ power has been depleted. You will acquire insight into the past of these magnificent mythical creatures as you aid them in regaining their powers. The Primalists, a group of malevolent elemental dragons and shamans, will try to disrupt your mission.
After being driven to cross paths so frequently in earlier expansions, the Dragonflight has earned its own storylines. After exploring the perhaps a bit too creative realm of World of Warcraft Shadowlands, the tale returns to its traditional fantasy foundations. This add-on is great for newcomers. It offers a straightforward and humorous plot that will help them feel comfortable jumping into the game. But the WoW: Dragonflight story suggests there aren’t enough tokens in the game. This might discourage those with a knack for dramatic righteousness.
The time has come to reach Dragon Isles, whether by boat or Zeppelin.
However, a sense of monotony sets in just a few moments. Despite the beautiful scenery, we are not WoWed with the presentation. There are no discussions or visuals depicting the uncovering of a new world. Activities are limited to a tiny campsite set up by a group of NPCs.
Needless to say, we might have hoped for more. We are disheartened not having a better foundation for developing our initial adventures into a draconic world whose very existence had enticed us up until that point.
It’s likely that the premise that we’re traveling with explorers, and like these NPCs, we have to investigate the huge landscape around us, is the driving force behind our rather grand entrance. That is to say, it’s a means of claiming the locations in question. Of course, without the benefit of a preamble or similar scene-setting tactic.

A sensible decision based on immersion; nonetheless, the opening might have used some tweaking to create excitement. That the excitement over this new expansion is initially treated as though it were just another location is unfortunate.
Several conversations with NPCs obsessed with finding the mysteries of Dragon Isles are followed by battles required to advance the story and finish the tasks. Eliminating monsters and elements, saving characters, and collecting items.

Let’s get this out of the way: there is nothing special here. Those who play World of Warcraft regularly are familiar with missions that, even when to read in their entirety, fail to excite. We still enjoy the quests that are very breezy, sometimes comical though.
Up, up, and away!
The ability to ride aboard dragons will not be available until a few minutes into the game. With only a few minutes spent learning the basics, you’ll be able to take to the skies in no time. Takeaway? Something completely different from the flying mounts that gamers have been using for over a decade. The visual and aural cues that coincide with the player’s movement provide a sense of acceleration.
It’s a breeze of movement that’s easy to adopt despite being confusing at first. Each skill your scaly monster uses will deplete its stamina pool. The only catch is that these points deplete rapidly. Another downside? It is replenished modestly in the early part of the adventure. Your dragon will need to rest frequently on the ground in order to regain its stamina. To help your dragon learn new skills and become a better flier, a skill tree is available.
Dracoglyphs!
In order to advance in flight, it is essential to collect pieces known as “dracoglyphs” from many locations, but mainly from the sky. This feature doesn’t set restrictions on exploration, but rather, actively invites new discoveries.

Simply put, your dragon will let you know that it has detected a scent, and from there you will have to go and investigate the location yourself. Flying a dragon is more than just a convenient way to get about more quickly; it’s also a fun addition to the new World of Warcraft adventure.
Flying on the back of one’s own dragon is a relaxing experience that entices adventure. To attract the player, items may feature accessories for your flying beast, although not necessary. The cosmetics aren’t particularly impressive, and they don’t do anything to alter the game itself. It’s only for the fun of riding a dragon decked out in fancy accessories.
World of Warcraft Dragonflight Races
Multiple areas in each zone have dragon-flying races, where players may put their speed to the test by diving through rings as quickly as they can. These courses of varied difficulties are, in a sense, side quest activities between main objectives. It is at this point that we can appreciate how quick and easy it is to ride a dragon.
The flying is realistic in every way by taking into consideration the effects of gravity, and it delivers. There hasn’t been a system as engaging as this one before. The sensation of speed is so strong that we can easily see our character, hair whipping in the wind, reveling in every second of racing through the sky at top velocity. The excitement of the flight helps you forget whatever dullness you may have felt beforehand.
A soothing atmosphere
If we exclude the Dracthyrs’ home island as part of the expanded region, we have 4 main zones to explore. We can only stress the majesty of these locations, which have been designed to be explored with the ability to fly on the back of a dragon in mind. Dragon Isles is breathtaking whether you’re hovering over it or firmly walking on land.
Keep in mind that there is some cohesion across the regions; the Dragonflight zones’ hues all correspond to different draconic attributes. Therefore, the players will come across grasslands, mountains, and woods, all bathed in gentle tones of red, green, blue, and yellow. The gentle music, the sound of the wind rustling the leaves, and the chirping of the birds all contribute to a soothing World of Warcraft atmosphere.
A fusion of Pandaria’s Asian scenery and the warmer regions of Northrend.
In Azeroth, players will find surroundings that are a blend of their previous experiences, with a bestiary that features both new and returning monsters. Moving forward, Dragons Isles is both a trip down memory lane for seasoned players and a relaxing ride for newcomers.

Valdrakken, the capital city, is impressive thanks to its impressive architecture and meticulous interior design. Blizzard provides seasoned travelers with a welcome change of pace and introduces newbies to a universe that is more forgiving than it first appears.
WoW: Dragonflight Professions
Crafting, gathering, and the blood, sweat, and tears of hard but rewarding effort have taken a backseat during earlier expansions, but are now front and center. This revamping of the professions system was not a half-hearted effort on Blizzard’s part. The user interface has been revised from the ground up, including features like the option to dismantle a product and repurpose its materials.
In order to maximize efficiency, it is also possible to acquire specialty equipment that provide bonuses.
We can see this feature being especially helpful on raid nights, when elixir and other buffs will make a big difference. The second new Dragonflight feature that stands out is the ability to place craft orders, which functions similarly to an auction house but that you have to provide all or some of the ingredients.
With these new specialized professions, gamers may establish their own unique build. All of this specifications and convenience comes at a cost, however, as each build requires several components. A new player will likely have trouble learning to play with crafted gear. However, the effort to revive interest in trading is not only a smart idea, but also a sensible bet.
Bridging the gap between the Classic version – look no further than WoW: Dragonflight.
Even if the professions have evolved, reviving their focus is like breathing new life into a component whose significance has been around for more than 10 years.
Uldaman, a dungeon instance in the original release of the game, is back and updated for this expansion. This is Blizzard’s method of demonstrating that they have heard their fans’ calls for a return to the Classic era. WoW does not simply update itself by discarding materials, but rather by using its original concepts to do it.
Dracthyr Evokers explore the wide variety of life on Azeroth for the first time. They are a new race and a new class, distinguished by their draconic and human look and their ability to fly. Blizzard appears to be putting all of its chips on mobility, since its newest classes are able to navigate any terrain with relative ease.
WoW: Dragonflight is a pleasant surprise with its straightforward yet effective concept.
It features stunning landscapes packed with details and homages even for the most seasoned players. The innovative class and race are only two examples of the many improvements in WoW: Dragonflight. There are, of course, certain flaws, such as the monotony of many tasks, the absence of dramatic stakes in the storyline, and the overly familiar nature of the protagonist’s landing on the Dragon Isles.
