On September 11, 2021, the first beta phase of Call of Duty: Vanguard took place. This event was an all-exclusive for PlayStation. Following this weekend, users of Xbox and PC will also have the access to test out the newly introduced “first-person shooter for free”. With this preview, we saw that like with most Call of Duty games, here too players will get a chance to see how the game will turn out; especially in terms of gameplay, maps, customization, and even maps.
This beta test was preceded by the first testing phase that some players were able to try out last month alongside the alpha test. The Vanguard alpha test is the preview showcased to the world; giving them inkling about how the new World War II would play out.
Comprehensive Overview
- Not much in terms of resolution has changed when the game is compared with its alpha version. Usually, PlayStation 4 games are 1080p while the games are 1620p on PlayStation 5.
- In the version pertaining to PlayStation 5, the game display is set at 4k resolution. But if players choose to play in 120 FPS, then the resolution will be set to 1584 pixels. That being said, resolutions in this game have been rendered quite dynamically.
- The best part of the games of PS5 is of course its graphics. Such graphics are so minutely detailed that we notice it in “the foresight, the anisotropic filtering, the particles, and other effects”.
- If we compare this to the former console then we find that the refresh rate continues to be stable. But one thing common with PlayStation 4 and both Pro versions is that the frame rate tends to drop quite often and this is especially prominent on the “Hotel Royal” card. One can say that PlayStation 5 is equipped with better reflection but there is an apparent lack of “ray tracing effects”.
