While newer COD enthusiasts might not recognize the name, the villain is no stranger to old-school players of the franchise. Who is Makarov?
- Vladimir Makarov was the invisible antagonist in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. He appeared as a recurring villain in Modern Warfare 2 while finally returning as the main adversary in Modern Warfare 3.
- He is leader of the Russian terrorist organization called the Inner Circle and an acquaintance of another prominent villain named Imran Zakhaev. Makarov is regarded as one of the masterminds for initiating World War 3 by various acts of manipulation.
- Vladimir is infamous for his ruthless tactics through which he committed numerous acts of terrorism and war crime. He remains unaltered in his motives and strives to achieve them by any means. Makarov did not hesitate to sacrifice his friend Yuri in order to reach his goals. He is a gifted strategist as well.
- He holds a heavy grudge towards Captain Price and John Soap for the assassination of his mentor Imran Zakhaev. We can also find that Makarov has put up newspaper cuttings of team Bravo Six as his potential targets.
Who is the Actor playing Makarov in the Call of Duty: MW3 Reboot?
- Roman Varshavsky, who originally played Makarov in the older Call of Duty series will not be reprising his role.
- 33 year old Bulgarian actor Julian Kostov is going to fill the shoes of the iconic villain in the upcoming Modern Warfare 3 reboot. He has acted in a number of films, television shows and video games.
- Alongside an actor, he is a filmmaker, talent manager and former professional swimmer as well.
- Tom Clancy’s The Division, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and Crossfire X are some of the notable games in which he has acted before.
Call of Duty: MW3 Reveal Event Details
- The developers have planned for an event surrounding the upcoming Modern Warfare 3 within its battle royale title Warzone. Players will gain double XP during the duration of this event starting from August 17 at 9:30 AM PT. It will be succeeded by another gameplay event Shadow Siege taking place an hour later.

Platforms and Release Date
