Breaking: LeBron James wants to commit to Team USA for the 2024 Paris Olympics; Plans on leading a team that has Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant

LeBron James wants to play for team USA in the 2024 Olympics

After a subtle hint of possibly joining Team USA in the 2024 Olympics, LeBron James now has confirmed he is considering representing the United States once again in Paris, France.

After seeing Team USA fail to capture even the Bronze medal in the 2023 FIBA World Cup, LeBron seems to be forming the Redeem Team 2.0

According to NBA insider Shams Charania and the Athletic, LeBron wants to suit up for the USA in the 2024 Paris Olympics. Moreover, LeGM is already working his magic with NBA superstars. LeBron, as always, has reportedly talked to multiple stars like Steph Curry, Kevin Durant, and even his Los Angeles Lakers teammate Anthony Davis. Other names like Kyrie Irving, Damian Lillard, Devin Booker, Jayson Tatum, De’Aaron Fox, Draymond Green, and Bam Adebayo are also heavily considering teaming up with LBJ.

This LeBron James-led Team USA would be a remarkable comeback for the American team after a disappointing World Cup run. LeBron, 38, has already participated in three Team USA Olympics tours, wherein he won two golds (2008,2012) and a bronze medal (2004) for his country. With LeBron, Steph, and KD banding together against the world, do you think there’s a good enough country that can beat this new Team USA? Add Joel Embiid (if he chooses the USA) to the equation, this squad may even top the 1992 Dream Team.

After the 2023 playoffs, LBJ thought of possibly retiring from basketball. Fortunately, he chose to stay. James is currently entering his 21st NBA season. At 38 years old, James hasn’t slowed down one bit. Argued by many as The Greatest of All Time, LeBron is still a force to reckon with. If he joins Team USA, James will be 39 years old by the start of the 2024 Olympics. This will be his fourth and possibly last Olympic appearance. By the 2028 Olympics, LeBron may have probably retired from basketball. Although the four-time MVP wants to keep playing until he shares the court with his sons (Bronny and Bryce), father time is slowly catching up to one of the best NBA players in history.

The Redeem Team

We all remember the Team USA that failed to win the Gold Medal in the 2004 Olympics. One of the players on that roster was no other than rookie LeBron James. Despite a star-studded cast of young guns and All-Star veterans, this squad only brought home a bronze medal. Because of that, Team USA decided to make changes and became hungrier for the title. Now led by coach K (Mike Krzyzewski) and joined by Kobe Bryant, Team USA made a statement against the world with the new “Redeem Team” in 2008. LeBron and Kobe, two of the biggest superstars in the NBA at the time, were extremely fun to watch. Aside from being unstoppable, they were obviously the co-leaders of the team.

Four years later, LeBron James returned to the Olympics and brought home the championship again. It was pretty easy for the Americans after they swept the whole tournament (8-0) and won with an average of 32 points against their opponents. The 2012 Team USA roster comprised of LeBron, Carmelo Anthony, Kevin Durant, Chris Paul, Russell Westbrook, James Harden, Tyson Chandler, Andre Iguodala, Deron Williams, Anthony Davis, Kevin Love, and Kobe Bryant. Although the 1992 Dream Team featuring Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, and Larry Bird was probably the best team ever assembled, the 2012 version is already up there as one of the best Team USA squads.
