Jellyfish Entertainment debuted project boy group EVNNE on September 19, 2023. The group comprises seven members: Keita, Park Han-bin, Lee Jeong-hyeon, Ji Yun-seo, Yoo Seung-eon, Mun Jung-hyun, and Park Ji-hoo. The members were previously participants of Mnet’s idol survival show Boys Planet.
Initially, the project group was going to debut under the name BLIT, an acronym for Boldy Leaping Into Tomorrow. However, due to concerns of misinterpretation, the agency decided to rename the group as EVNNE after consulting with the members.
As per the agency, EVNNE is a combination of unusual words forming the meaning- Evening’s Newest Etoiles. It is a perfect name to represent the rising stars that began their journey with their debut EP, Target: ME, consisting of six tracks. Read ahead for a review of the album and our favorite tracks.
Ranked List of EVNNE’s Top Songs
The debut EP of EVNNE consists of six tracks, including the title Trouble. All of the songs range from upbeat pop songs that are perfect for live performances to sweet, melodic tunes highlighting the variety of vocals of the group.
Following a thorough listen of all the tracks, one can say that the group is particularly excellent in composing engaging bridges and refrains that are getting harder to come across in the new-gen K-pop. Without further ado, let’s find out the best tracks from EP Target: ME.
5. Pretty Thing
Pretty Thing is the third track in the Target: ME album. It is particularly attractive to listen to the ranges of vocals of the septet with a classic boyband chorus. The song also has a teenage dream feel with a refreshing bridge.
4. JUKEBOX
The fifth track of the EP features EVNNE members Ji Yun Seo and Lee Jeong Hyeon as lyricists. The song is an appealing track where the K-pop boy group promises to deliver more music, just like a personal jukebox. This standard K-pop song will be a favorite B-side track for many.
3. Your Text | Even More
Your Text is a honey-dipped mochi song that provides a warm feeling to the listeners. It is featured on the fourth spot of the tracklist, and it is sweet, romantic, lyrical, and swoon-worthy. Additionally, Your Text is one of the most searched songs of the group, making it a favorite of their fandom EVVNE.
Meanwhile, Even More is a fan song written by members Keita and Ji Yun Seo. Its lyrics are one of the major highlights of the track and the album, as the members express their gratitude to their fans with the promise of being there for them through the music.
2. Trouble
The album’s title track ought to feature towards the top of the list. Trouble is a powerful and catchy introduction to the group. It features heart-pumping beats with plenty of danceability and a 10/10 pre-chorus.
1. Role Model
EVNNE’s debut EP is incomplete without the second track, Role Model. The song has an attractive combination of flow and energetic beats. I can best describe it as a new-gen group’s nostalgic rendition of 3rd-gen K-pop’s take on 90s K-pop. It features an excellent refrain, and the pre-chorus is heart.
