Bellator 274: Andrey Koreshkov Breaks Chance Rencountre’s Ribs

Feb.19, 2022 – Andrey Koreshkov (25-4-0) and Chance Rencountre (16-5-0)took the stage in a fight in Bellator MMA 274 last Saturday.

Chance “The Black Eagle” Rencountre, an American professional mixed martial artist suffered a devastating loss from the former Welterweight Champion, the Russian Spartan, Andrey Koreshkov.

The Spinning heel kick landed perfectly unto Rencountre’s ribcage. It’s a very devastating blow that almost no one can endure.

He used a spinning kick with his right foot and struck his opponent, Chance Rencountre.

At that certain moment, Rencountre tried to grapple Koreshkov but already felt the extreme pain in his body. The American fighter fell crumbling to the floor while being punched continuously in the head by Koreshkov. The referee later ruled a technical knockout, in favor of Andrey Koreshkov.

After the fight, X-ray scans found out that Rencountre broke 5 of his ribs. Add to that a punctured lung and a bruised kidney. 

Rencontre will undergo surgery to repair his ribs in the future. Though he suffered a huge loss against the Russian fighter, the Black Eagle is still optimistic and is in good spirits. He is looking forward to recovery and returning to the ring.

This fight is Rencountre’s debut Bellator MMA fight. On the other hand, this knockout win is the thirteenth in Koreshkov’s career.
