Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes launched their joint podcast, Amy and T.J., on iHeartRadio on Tuesday, December 5, and opened up about their controversial romance for the first time. The couple also talked about the fallout when the relationship was made public and the exit from GMA3: What You Need to Know, saying they lost the jobs they love because they love each other.

Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes set the record straight on their new podcast, revealing the truth about their romance and the public fallout in late 2022. And to make their new show more dramatic, they launched it on the first anniversary of their suspension from their ABC morning show.
“Nov. 30, 2022, was the day that we were, and this is very important, we were outed,” T.J. revealed via People. Amy then stressed that they weren’t caught, with her boyfriend explaining that they were outed as being in a relationship. At the same time, everyone thought they were outed because they were adulterers “cheating on their respective spouses.”
“It wasn’t the case,” he emphasized.
He explained that though they weren’t officially divorced yet at the time, they were already living separately from their respective former spouses even before the news about their romance came public.

In fact, on the day their photo was taken, and the article about them was released, they were already in divorce proceedings.
“Yes, we had attorneys, mediators. We were in the middle of divorces,” Amy chimed in.
It had been three months since her ex-husband, Andrew Shue, had “moved out of the house” before her first photo with T.J. was taken on November 10. She had stopped wearing her wedding ring since early August, and everyone in her tight circle knew she was getting a divorce.
Alternatively, T.J. had been living alone without his ex-wife, Marilee Fiebig, since the summer, and the photographs taken of him while leaving a building wasn’t the same home he shared with her. However, despite these explanations, he admitted they made mistakes by letting everyone know about their relationship before finding out about their divorces.

Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes continued that they had “gone through a year of hell” after their romance was outed. They revealed their podcast was the first time they got to say what really happened to their romance and where they are today.
But at the end of it all, Amy claimed everyone is “always rooting for love,” adding that it doesn’t always happen when one wants it to happen. She also said that it’s undeniable when it’s real, and it’s something that has to be navigated despite being hard.

T.J., on the other hand, also described relationships as aren’t easy, messy, and imperfect. But as they have both fought for their love, he has never been happier, and he’s now with his best friend. In fact, he’s at the “happiest and healthiest” part of his life now that he’s with Amy.
“Bottom line, we have not said this,” he said. “I’m in love with this woman, and she’s in love with me, and we are planning a life together.”
Despite starting their romance in the most turbulent times of their lives, T.J. Holmes and Amy Robach have found solace in each other. The couple has now answered all the unanswered questions since news about their relationship began to hit the headlines last year. Though it stirs a huge controversy, resulting in losing their jobs and tainting their professions, they prove their love can withstand anything that comes their way.
