America’s Got Talent: All-Stars, Where is Sofia Vergara?

NBC is starting off this year with a bang with the introduction of an all-new version of America’s Got Talent called All-Stars. They have shown a preview of what viewers can expect in America’s Got Talent: All-Stars, but a lot of fans noticed that Sofia Vergara was nowhere to be found. In both the promotional video and image for AGT: All-Stars, we see Terry Crews returning as the host and Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel, and Simon Cowell returning as the judges. But where is our favorite Colombian actress? Stay with us!

NBC has launched America’s Got Talent: All-Stars — but where is Sofia Vergara?

When we had a first look at AGT: All-Stars, the familiar faces were a delight to see. However, one judge was missing from the roster and it definitely had viewers wondering. Why isn’t Sofia Vergara part of the new show? She’s been such a lovely judge throughout all these seasons, and it wouldn’t be AGT without her, right?

Unfortunately, there are no updates on why Sofia Vergara is no longer part of America’s Got Talent. NBC hasn’t put out any sort of announcement regarding her departure from the series. At the same time, Vergara hasn’t been very vocal on social media about her not being part of the roster of judges anymore.
  • Some netizens speculate that the reason Sofia Vergara is not part of America’s Got Talent is that she may be focusing on her other projects. If you’ve been following news about Vergara, she is going to be part of a new Netflix miniseries.

  • In the miniseries titled Griselda, she will play the title character. Griselda Blanco is a drug cartel leader born in Colombia, so Vergara will be getting in touch with her roots for this role.

Will she be back?

Since there is no official statement yet about her departure, we’d like to think that there is still room for Sofia Vergara to re-join America’s Got Talent. When stars leave a show they’ve been part of for a while, they would take to social media and thank those who have been part of their journey.

In Vergara’s case, there are no posts from either NBC or her yet regarding this. Additionally, America’s Got Talent: All-Stars is different from Season 18. So she may just be taking a pass on All-Stars and returning to Season 18 once it premieres. Nothing is set in stone yet so fingers crossed that we’ll see the return of Sofia Vergara on AGT soon!

What is America’s Got Talent: All-Stars all about?

According to the official description from NBC, All-Stars is a new show filled with familiar faces. Each week, there will be 10 Acts performing for the Judges. Similar to the original America’s Got Talent, they will have to wow the Judges with their performances and hope to move on to the next round. What makes All-Stars different from the normal AGT is that participants in All-Stars have already appeared on AGT in the past. These Acts can be composed of winners, runner-ups, and even those eliminated in the semi- and quarter-finals. Plus, we’ll get to see fan favorites in the new show! Participating Acts in America’s Got Talent: All-Stars may also come from international versions of the series.
