Amazon has delayed the launch of their upcoming MMORPG game New World to the 31st of August of this year.
The news was revealed through a development update on a blog post which says that Amazon Games had previously held a preview event with the goal of sharing the progress made on the game since August of last month.
The developers have collected feedback on what gameplay improvements have o be implemented from hundreds of thousands of players who were invited to experience New World. The blog adds that the combat system has been polished since then along with a bunch of other interest additions which include – fishing, quest variety, a new region called Reedwater. The crafting system has been completely overhauled and more mid-game and end-game content are being added.
“We’ve been hard at work on compelling end-game features we believe are important to include at launch,” Amazon said.
In the same breath, Amazon said that since it would take time to add new features and improvements in the game, they will delay the launch till August 31, 2021. The developers will continue the alpha version of New World on EU servers to expand testing on March 30, 2021. The closed beta will begin on July 20, 2021 and will be accessible to those who have pre-ordered the game.
