The Atelier Ryza franchise is making its way beyond the video game medium into the world of anime with an exciting new adaptation. Koei Tecmo announced this officially on Twitter with all-new promotional material and fans cannot wait for it to be released. The anime will be an adaptation of the first entry in Atelier Ryza’s Secret series: Ever Darkness and the Secret Hideout.
Based on the original RPG developed by Gust in 2019, it promises to be a faithful adaptation of the video game, especially in terms of the visuals. There is no confirmed release date for the Atelier Ryza anime but the new teaser trailer and posters have given us a few hints.

We can expect more details from Koei Tecmo on March 26 after the third game, Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End & the Secret Key, launches. A special event called Atelier Ryza: The Four Voice Actors and the Anime Adaptation is on the schedule after the launch.
What we know about Atelier Ryza’s anime adaptation including plot and release date
As mentioned earlier, the adaptation will focus on the events in the 2019 game Ever Darkness and the Secret Hideout. It follows the story of a young girl named Reisalin “Ryza” Stout, who lives in a small village called Kurken Island. She dreams of exploring the world beyond her village and becoming an alchemist.
One day, Ryza and her friends discover a hidden entrance to a mysterious ruin, which leads them to a secret hideout. There, they find an ancient alchemy machine that awakens the protagonist’s latent talent for alchemy. With her new skills, she sets out on an adventure to explore the world and uncover its secrets.
The anime adaptation of Atelier Ryza is all set to release in Aniplex’s Summer 2023 anime schedule. However, no specific date has been announced yet.

The cast of voice actors for the upcoming anime adaptation of Atelier Ryza includes a majority of returning cast members from the video game franchise. Here is a list of the primary voice actors with their respective characters:

Emma Yuzuriha will be directing the anime for Liden Films, with Tomoyuki Shitaya adapting Toridamono’s original character designs. Yashichiro Takahashi is in charge of series composition, while Kazuki Yanagawa heads the music department.

The game already has a manga adaptation in Kadokawa Game Linkage’s Shūkan Famitsū magazine. If the anime adaptation is successful, we can expect its two sequels to be adapted into upcoming seasons.
Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness and the Secret Hideout is the first anime adaptation in the Atelier video game franchise. However, Atelier Marie and Elie – The Alchemist of Salburg, Atelier Escha & Logy: Alchemists of the Dusk Sky, and Atelier Rorona have all been adapted into manga.
