2022 NBA Western Conference Finals: Golden State Warriors V.S. Dallas Mavericks: Which Team Will Advance to the Finals

After more than 10 years, the Dallas Mavericks have once again reached the NBA Western Conference finals, all thanks to Luka Doncic’s heroics. The last time this team played in the conference finals was during the 2011 championship run by Dirk Nowitzki. But, Luka and the Mavs will be facing a battle-tested and powerhouse team – the Golden State Warriors.

GSW has been on this horizon for many years now. In the last 10 years, they’ve officially made 6 western conference finals appearances. This just all means that this veteran team is not new to the pressure of the playoffs, heck not even the finals.

Which Team Will Most Probably Advance to the NBA Finals?

The Golden State Warriors are completely healthy as of today. From Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, Jordan Poole, Kevon Looney, and Andrew Wiggins, to head coach Steve Kerr, everyone is performing very well to keep this team working perfectly. What stands out the most is their strong three-point shooting, perfect ball movement as well as good defensive skills.

The only gap in their team is a legit center who is a tenacious rebounder as well as a good passer, somehow like what Andrew Bogut did in their previous runs. Perhaps this gap can be filled by the Dubs’ heart and soul, Draymond Green. Green is an All-Star this season and still shows that he is the unparalleled leader of the Warriors.

Meanwhile, the Mavericks are having a stellar year, where all of their stars are highly contributing to the team. From Luka Doncic, Jalen Brunson, Spencer Dinwiddie, Dorian Finney-Smith, Maxi Kleber, to Dwight Powell, you can see that this team’s chemistry is off the charts. Similar to GSW, they also lack a versatile big man since they’ve already traded Kristaps Porzingis to the Washington Wizards after the All-Star break. Luka’s defense is also a matter of concern. While Luka lacks the defensive mindset, he makes up for it with his wide offensive arsenal.

On paper, it’s obvious that the Warriors are by far, the better team. Not to take anything away from Luka, but a complete and healthy Warriors seems to be unstoppable.
