2022 NBA All-Star Weekend: Team LeBron V.S. Team Durant

LeBron James and Kevin Durant are both the captains in the 2022 NBA All-Star Game, which will be held in Cleveland. With James being a captain for five (5) consecutive years since this rule has been implemented, and winning each competition. Take a look at their draft picks and we’ll decide who will come out on top.

TEAM LEBRON’S ROSTER

STARTERS
LeBron James (Captain)
Giannis Antetokounmpo
Steph Curry
DeMar DeRozan
Nikola Jokic
RESERVES
Jimmy Butler
Luka Doncic
Darius Garland
James Harden
Donovan Mitchell
Chris Paul
Fred VanVleet

LeBron, or should we say, LeGM is back at it again as his all-star draft this year looks very similar to that of his last year’s team (Curry, Giannis, Jokic).

This starting lineup is fire, and can beat any team you throw at it. Enough firepower in offense, ball movement, player rotation, and defensive factors. Last year, he really enjoyed playing with Steph and Giannis. Though he did not play that well, his team still beat Team Durant by a mile, 170-150.

The starting five outweighs Team Durant’s starters. It’s true since we can see four former MVPs in one team. Now that is what you call a SUPER TEAM!

His reserve unit is impressive, too. All of them are guards, but it might be up to Luka Doncic, Chris Paul, and James Harden to push the offense.

TEAM DURANT’S ROSTER

STARTERS
Kevin Durant (Captain) – injured, to be replaced by Jayson Tatum
Joel Embiid
Ja Morant
Trae Young
Andrew Wiggins
RESERVES
Karl-Anthony Towns
LaMelo Ball
Devin Booker
Zach Lavine
Rudy Gobert
Khris Middleton
Dejounte Murray

In Durant’s team, his first pick was an MVP candidate this season, Joel Embiid. Since Durant is out, Jayson Tatum will replace him as a starter. Trae Young is now a starter this season. But, two players in this team are yet to have their all-star debut – Ja Morant and Andrew Wiggins. The team is relatively younger than that of LeBron’s. They have the youth, the speed, and the hunger. But, the opposing team has the strength, various offensive weapons, and experience.

If we look at the guys in the reserves list, they do have the chance to be on par with LeBron’s reserves. Devin Booker and Zach Lavin are both already at a superstar level. Furthermore, they have the size and muscle down below in Rudy Gobert and Karl-Anthony Towns (which is lacking in LeBron’s reserves).

WHICH NBA All-Star TEAM COMES OUT ON TOP?

It’s highly expected that LeBron’s team will win by a large margin. But, they are all all-stars. They were chosen to be part of this game because of their talent, hard work, and great effort. The ball is still round, and any team can win. But, at a glance, team LeBron has a higher chance of winning.
