5 major celebrities who chose not to attend Met Gala 2023

Met Gala 2023 officially took place on May 1 and honored the legacy of Karl Lagerfeld. Fans around the world say at their seats’ edge to see what popular celebrities wore on the fashion’s biggest night. Unfortunately, a few of the top fashion icons chose early on not to attend Met Gala 2023, and some of their reasons stunned the world. 

Most celebrities exhibit their striking fashion looks at Met Gala and become headline topics of the week. But the following celebrities did not attend the event. Let’s take a look at who they are and their reasons for skipping out.

1) Madison Beer

Madison Beer has stunned the world as a magnificent singer, and she made her Met Gala debut in the year 2021. She was seen wearing a custom-made emerald green gown at the Met Gala 2021 known to be fabricated by One/Of designer, Patricia Voto. The stunning gown was to pay tribute to the old-style Hollywood glamour of legendary Marilyn Monroe.

Millions of fans spread across the globe were in the hopes of Madison Beer walking the Met Gala’s steps but she decided to not attend this year. Reasons why she skipped out remain unknown as of now.

2) Taylor Swift

It was in the year 2008 that Taylor Swift was first seen at Met Gala, and since then she has appeared an astonishing right times. The last time she was seen showing off her splendid fashion was in the year 2016. This year, her fans, popularly called Swifties, had their hopes high of finally seeing her at Met Gala after eight long years.

Taylor Swift started her tour in March 2023 and will be touring all over the world for a period of around six months. So, being occupied with giving her best at her 2023 tour, The Eras Tour, she decided not to attend Met Gala 2023. Swifties will have to hold tight until next year to get to see her at the prestigious event. 

3) Bella Hadid

Bella Hadid is one of the most highly anticipated models people look for on the red carpet of the Met Gala. She is a well-known fashion icon who has stunned the world with her charm and attractive fashion looks and outfits. But to everyone’s surprise, she was not seen on Met Gala 2023 red carpet. 

The reason why she missed this year is not clear, but her fans still expect her to be back the next year.

Bella Hadid suffers from Lyme disease and until recently a jaw infection as well, where she has found difficulty standing or walking because of joint pain. There is a possibility that this might be the reason for her not attending the Met Gala 2023, but there has been no official reveal yet. 

4) Timothee Chalamet

Fans were not able to believe that Timothee Chalamet skipped on Met Gala 2023. He was the co-host at Met Gala 2021, which was a real show-breaker. But to everyone’s surprise, Timothee hasn’t appeared since then.

Fans also believed Met Gala 2023 to make Timothee’s relationship with Kylie Jenney official. While Kylie Jenner walked the red carpet accompanied by her sisters, Timothee Chalamet did not make an appearance.

One of his major films, Dune 2, is scheduled to be released in the month November this year. Zendaya is one of his co-stars in the movie, she also did not attend Met Gala 2023. So it could be a possibility that Timothee is busy filming for his next big movie. 

5)  Zendaya

Zendaya made her stunning debut at Met Gala 2015, and she was seen attending the fashion night ever since until her last appearance at Met Gala 2019. Her remarkable fashion sense is something people look out for each and every year.

The beautiful and glittering Cinderella gown from the 2019 Met Gala was the last look people got to see. Hopes were really high that Zendaya would be attending Met Gala 2023, but she was nowhere to be found. Last year, she did announce her busy schedule filming movies, but the reason for 2023 remains unknown.

Zendaya’s new movie Dune 2 is scheduled to be released in the month of November this year so it is a possibility that Zendaya is under again under scheduled filming.
