Genshin Impact 3.6 livestream highlighted a variety of events, exploration, new character banners, and more. The new patch is expected to premiere on April 12, at 11 AM (UTC+8). Before the update goes live, the developers shut down the server for approximately five hours to prepare it for the changes. Excited players will have to sit through the duration, to spend their Primogems on the upcoming character banners.

Server Downtime
Developers are expected to begin the Genshin Impact 3.6 maintenance on April 12 at 6 AM (UTC +8). For now, the information is based on speculation until HoYoverse declares the official downtime. However, the scheduled time has been obtained from tracking their past update record. Thus, travelers can rely on the information and stay prepared for the short break before stepping into a new patch.
The server maintenance will commence at the same time across the globe. The following list contains expected shutdown time across some major time zones for reader’s convenience.

The server will go live after 5 hours of maintenance. Do keep in mind that the list above does not account for any delays from the developer’s end.
Once the update goes live, HoYoverse will compensate travelers with 600 Primogems for the downtime and bug fixes. Players will be able to log in and claim the reward from their mailbox in the game menu.

Once version 3.6 of the game is live, players will be able to wish on the new character banners. According to the patch livestream, the following units will receive their featured banners in the update.
- Nahida and Nilou will be in the first half of the version. (Speculated from April 12 to May 3, 2023)
- Baizhu and Ganyu will be in the second half of the version (Speculated from May 3 to May 24, 2023)
Kaveh, the new 4-star Dendro Claymore will get featured alongside Baizhu. Additionally, two new story quests will be added to the game along with various new events for the version. Travelers will be able to acquire a free Faruzan after they complete “A Parade of Providence” Flagship Event.

Lastly, there will be a new area expansion in the Sumeru Desert that will introduce new enemies and bosses into the roster. Adventurers will be able to access new waypoints and treasures that will reward them with Primogems. Moreover, grinding the new content of Genshin Impact 3.6 will allow them to collect over 85 free wishes.
