Genshin Impact is an open-world ARPG game that was developed by MiHoYo. They have made it available for players across various platforms including consoles and mobile devices. Moreover, The game supports a cross-play feature which is a huge plus for its player base. As long as travelers are on the same server, they can co-op to embark on their Teyvat escapade.
HoYoverse, formerly MiHoYo, was initially a mobile game developer. However, they set out to release games across PC, consoles, and mobile devices to expand their audience. Their popular title, Genshin Impact premiered across the mentioned platforms on September 28, 2020. The game has come a long way from its release and now is a good time to discuss its cross-platform features.
Genshin Impact cross-platform support: What are the available devices to play the game on?
As mentioned earlier, Hoyoverse has released Genshin Impact across multiple platforms. The game has a level cap that prevents players from joining a co-op session. However, once travelers have reached Adventure Level 16, they can enter each other’s world to collect resources, defeat monsters, and more. Additionally, adventurers can also access cross-play across various devices. Here is a list of platforms where the title is available for gamers.

Unfortunately for Xbox players, the game is not available as of April 2023. The developers have not shared any info or interest about a potential release for the platform. For the time being Xbox fans will have to resort to the aforementioned platforms to enjoy the ARPG title.
Hope remains for Nintendo Switch as Hoyoverse have promised the title’s release for the platform. The game is currently under development for Nintendo devices. However, it will take them some time to optimize it for the new hardware. Moreover, porting any game is a challenging and risky process. Thus players will have to wait a little longer for its official release on the Switch.
How to avail cross-play feature, and more
Genshin Impact has offered an extensive cross-play feature, ever since its release. Regardless of whatever device it is running on, travelers can hop on to any co-op session. The game provides the option to either join a friend or any active player.
To add a friend, one can simply navigate to the “Friends” tab under the game menu. At the top of the screen, there will be an option to “Add friend” using the UID. Once the process is done, their name should be available under the same tab. Additionally, there will be a “Request to Join” option beside every name. Travelers can only enter their friend’s world after they approve the request. Moreover, anyone can join the active player from the “Co-op Mode” button in the Genshin Impact menu.
Travelers should be mindful of the fact that cross-server co-op feature is unavailable in the game. Also, players can access multiplayer or cross-play feature after reaching Adventure Rank 16.
