With the release of Overwatch 2 Season 4, Lifeweaver will be added to the live servers along with some major hero changes. While some characters endured some quality nerfs, few received additional buffs and rework. The most notable difference could be seen in the case of Brigette’s Rally ability. She was already performing well in the game, but now she might be one of the top support picks in the game. 

Blizzard has been constantly updating their heroes across the seasonal patches. Their main motive for these changes is to keep the game balanced for their player base. Keep reading to learn more about some of the massive buffs and nerfs to the heroes from Overwatch 2 Season 4.

Reinhardt

  • The additional armor health will be reduced from 300 to 250.
  • Additionally, his base health will increase from 175 to 200.

Sigma

  • The impact damage of his Accretion ability is getting reduced from 60 to 40 (80 damage total with an explosion).
  • Knockdown from the boulder will receive an increase in duration from 0.8 to 1.1 seconds.

Cassidy

  • Earlier, his base health was 225, which will be reduced to 200.
  • Damage from Magnetic Grenade reduced from 131 to 120.

Sombra

  • Her ultimate ability, EMP, will now disable Mei’s Blizzard.

Ana

  • Reduction of her Sleep Dart’s maximum duration on Tank heroes by 30%. Earlier, it was 5 seconds, which will be decreased to 3.5 seconds.

Brigitte

Brigitte received the maximum number of changes to her Rally. 

  • She now gains 100 restorable armor health pools for the ability’s duration.
  • Additionally, she no longer gradually builds temporary health like her nearby allies.
  • Rally now upgrades her Barrier Shield. It will have a larger size.
  • Barrier shield health is also increased from 300 to 750 during the ultimate.
  • She will be able to hit multiple enemies with the Shield Bash. 
  • Enemies will now be briefly stunned by the impact. 
  • Lastly, her bonus movement speed during the ultimate will be reduced from 30 to 15%

As for her Repair packs, the activation range will now be 25 meters instead of 30 meters. 

Mercy

Mercy receives changes to her Caduceus Staff.

  • The healing-per-second from the ability increased from 45 to 55.
  • The healing will no longer increase for allies under half health.

Her Guardian Angel ability receives some additional changes. 

  • The cooldown is reduced from 2.5 to 1.5 seconds
  • Jump and Crouch cancel active ability state duration increased from 1.0 to 1.5 seconds.
  • The Jump and Crouch cancel active ability state can no longer be manually interrupted to begin the cooldown early.

Lastly, for Valkyrie, the support role of passive healing will be active for the duration of the ultimate. 

Moira

  • Fade can now be activated during her ultimate Coalescence.
  • The ultimate’s bonus movement speed is reduced from 50 to 40%.
  • Increased lingering heal duration by 2 to 3 seconds on her Biotic Grasp.

For now, the developers have focused more on their support heroes in Season 4 of the game. They are an essential class that acts as the backbone of any team composition. The list of hero changes may not be what players have hoped for. However, Blizzard will constantly make changes to their roster depending on the hero pick rates and feedback from the community.
